About Open University Media
I created Open University Media because I always felt that college needed a space like this—anonymous, but moderated enough that people could genuinely express themselves without fear. A space where honesty didn’t come with consequences. A place where your thoughts didn’t have to be filtered to fit what the world wants from you.
People keep saying, “Just make a WhatsApp group, make a Reddit page.” But the moment you step into those spaces, you trade away more of your privacy than you realize. You lose control over who takes screenshots, who stalks you, who misuses your identity. Not everyone has the mental strength to speak publicly, or even semi-publicly. I wanted a place for those people. For the ones who feel too small to speak, or too tired to explain, or too scared to be judged for simply being human.
This platform is for everyone. Anyone who is happy. Anyone who is heartbroken. Anyone who failed an exam, fought with a friend, or just feels like ranting about how their day went wrong. This is not therapy. This is not a replacement for real support. But it is better than silence. Better than holding everything inside. Better than feeling like you have no right to speak.
I don’t want Open University Media to just be a “safe” space. I want the people who use it to be open-minded too. To remember that someone else out there has it worse. To understand that if you have the courage left in you, help someone else up. Lift them. Maybe your day wasn’t the worst, but someone else is holding on by a thread. This platform should let people let go of what they have been carrying—about college, people, relationships, family, or life itself—and feel even a little lighter.
The core values here are simple: honesty, being open, supporting each other, understanding, and respect. Even when emotions run high. Even when days get rough. Even when frustration takes over.
People often join random groups hoping to connect, only to end up stalked, threatened, or misused. I’ve seen it happen too many times. This platform removes that risk. There is no identity to steal. No number to leak. No face to expose. Just words. Just emotion. Just thoughts—kept safe.
I want to stay anonymous as long as possible, not because I’m hiding, but because this platform isn’t about me. It’s about everyone else who needs it. But if legal situations demand it, I will stand present. I have faith in the people using this space. I believe they won’t push it too far. That belief is the hardest thing to ask for, but I still ask.
The tone here is simple: friendly, direct, real. No fake positivity, no sugarcoating, just honest voices.
If there’s one message I want every student to take away, it’s this: if you think you can’t speak for yourself, then be the reason someone else finds the courage to speak. You are never the only one. No one is ever the only one.
As for the future, I’ll decide that when the future arrives. This space will grow with time, with people, with stories. Nothing forced.
I’m not someone who takes things to heart easily, but I have seen my friends break under the weight of things they never said aloud. Emotion works differently for everyone. And if not for me, then for them. Everyone deserves a chance. Maybe with this website, I give them one—an anonymous voice that finally belongs to them.
This is Open University Media.
Your voice. Your space.
